isaiah eagle boy!

There's an Isaiah Eagle boy in the shop!
I had too many requests to make this scripture print with a boy.
And fresh from my career coaching tips I was able to put some
of the new skills I learned into practice.
Like getting rid of my pencil drawing and making it more like a true digital illustration.
Oh if only I didn't need to sleep.
There are so many prints on paper...just waiting to come to life.
The eagle boy is in the shop here, and if you're looking for a different
skin or hair color just send me an email and I'll make it happen.

I have long loved this scripture.
Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
May the young man in your life see this and
imagine himself soaring on eagle's wings with the strength of the Lord.

a new baby

A new print is in the shop.

And this time, it's totally customizable by YOU.

It's to commemorate that special day of a new baby's birth.

Print measures 8x10.  Perfect gift, or a keepsake for your own family.

You get to pick the fonts you like best, the background color & the scripture.

It's no secret I love silhouettes.

I also love woodland animals.

And babies.

And chevron.

And of course scripture.

So it's a winning combination.

You can find them here...have fun looking around!

embracing ... a lot

I'm attempting to play with instagram
and actually put myself in the picture too.
I know I've mentioned this is ever so hard for me.
It really is.
So I'm pushing my boundaries here, being in the picture
and even sharing it with you.

I'd much rather show you this little lady
who has become my walking partner.

She actually changed into this outfit for walking,
because every girl needs a nice cardigan and skirt
to exercise in right?  of course.

Tonight she came out after bath decked out as mommy.
I was dying.
I actually shot video, which eventually I take the time to put up on here.
This is her in a 'mom uniform'.
She has on my shoes, my hat,
a cell phone and some mama chia.
Dying I tell you.
Because her whole persona,
her walk, everything changed.
Do you ever wonder how your kids perceive you?
Well, tonight I found out.
And as she was describing me
she said, "Mommy looks like, like a princess."

At eight p.m., me still decked out in the workout wear I put on
at seven this morning with the intention of fitting it in at some point,
only it never worked out.  I was feeling far from a princess.

So as I'm tossing laundry in the machine I pause sort of shocked and say,
"Really, you think Mommy looks like a princess."
And she said, "Yea" so matter of factly, "God's princess."
This might sound so cliche, I know.
But honestly that's her heart.
And that's how she sees me.
And that is a lesson that even in my un-worked out in sweats,
in my end of the day exhaustion from
what felt like an eternity on the road
battling traffic
and mishaps here and there
God still sees a princess!

Ok..one last little bit of an announcement.

I have a warrior boy.
So excited to introduce him to you.
Want a visual checklist for your son (or yourself) while you're in his room.
We MUST, MUST, MUST gear up every day.
Do you forget sometimes?
I know I do.
But now we have no excuse with this reminder.
He's in the shop now, and can be customized if you'd like.

And for more embracing the camera fun...head over here.

new warrior girl

A customer asked me to make her with redder hair and to add a title.

As I started working, I was inspired to totally revamp my warrior girl.

She's in the shop now.

If you like this design, but want one of the other warrior girls with it,
just let me know and I can make it custom for you or the special person you want to
gift it to for Christmas.

And here she is with a straight haired bob too.

embracing our tree!

I have been very quiet here.
I was really, really sick with bronchitis.  I won't bore you with the details, but I'm on the mend.
And I was inspired by Luke 2:18-19 to create this scripture silhouette print.
It's beautiful to imagine Mary treasuring her precious Savior and pondering all these things in her heart.  She's setting the example for us isn't she?  It's available as a print or a DIY download in so many fun color options!

Other exciting news around here, we cut down our first Christmas Tree.  We live in LA so this is seriously cool to me.  I had always wanted to do it, so last Saturday, we took the train from Fillmore to the Santa Paula tree farm.  It was beautiful and such a fun experience.  The kids were so excited.

This is our tree.  We thought we were being conservative, and picking a regular sized tree.
But because we were out in such a wide open area, our perspective was off, and this one barely fits under the ceiling.  Just barely.
But it was half the price we usually pay at the lot and is so so fresh.
I have to feed it water twice a day.
Just hoping it lasts through the season.
It's gorgeous to me.
The kids of course promptly had to get the decorations out and on the tree.
And of course that means clumping them all together in one area.
I've learned to just let that go and not get all 'Martha' about it.
Do you know what I mean?
This is so exciting and fun to them.
I'll go in and tweak a little later.
But I don't say a word, because I want it to be special
and magical, as it should be.

I'm linking to embrace the camera today.

Head over there for more fun embracing moments!

f a i t h & p e a c e

Two new prints.
Inspired by vintage artist trading cards using ephemera.
I'm taking a twist on the bingo cards & turning them into scripture cards.

A perfect reminder to fix our eyes on Jesus - the author and perfecter of our faith!

And to remember that Jesus gave us the gift of peace..of mind and heart... a peace the world cannot give.

They match the S W E E T print I posted about earlier.

You can order them as a 5x7 or four 3x5's.
Perfect for framing, putting on the fridge or bulletin board
or to use as gift tags.

Even better, once I have one more complete, I'm planning to offer the set of four as a pdf download.
That way you can make one purchase and print as many as you'd like for your crafting, holiday needs!

s w e e t scripture

I love all things vintage, including ephemera, ATC's & altered art.

I was inspired by those B I N G O cards that are altered,
but I decided to design mine based on scripture.
This is the first of a series.
My wheels are turning.

This one is in the shop now.

It's a beautiful verse and a lovely reminder that it is like a sweet fragrance to God
every time we spread the knowledge of Jesus Christ in every place.
If you read on through to
2 Corinthians 2:15 the NLT goes on to say
"Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God".

OUR LIVES.

Think about that for awhile.
What an honor and a responsibility to make sure our lives are
truly a Christ-like fragrance rising up to our God.

fall inspiration

Fall is my most favorite season.
I love the anticipation.
The spirit of thanksgiving.
There's a feeling in the air.
The sunlight is different.
The leaves changing colors
(even if they aren't as plentiful in so. cal.).
I wanted to capture this season of giving in an autumn print.
and finally i have a red-head in the shop.
I'm working to turn this into a thank you card
with a different scripture...
It's coming soon.

I think i'd like that outfit she has on...
and below you'll see what happens around here when
mommy tries to work while the kids are awake.

Yes, the dishes get piled high in the sink and the filing awaits,
but I love that my kids get inspired to do their own drawings.

This little lady likes to draw from my drawings.
She was getting frustrated that i kept blocking her view,
so I printed it out for her to have her own copy.

I love that she's so detailed.
and I love her creativity.

She and I are kindred spirits
in the fact that she'll wake up and say,
"I NEED to draw."

When there's a spark of an idea,
she has to get it out.
Before eating, before anything else.
She just needs to draw.

Happy Autumn everyone!

mirror mirror

This is the first of a series I've had in mind for awhile.
Quoting 2 Corinthians 3:18 to remind each of us that we, with unveiled faces, are a reflection of His glory.

To think of that the next time you look in the mirror.

And to think, we're being transformed into His same image more and more each day.

We get to behold the glory of the Lord and in turn reflect it out to others.

Pretty powerful.  And pretty convicting.

"But we all, with unveiled face,
beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord,
are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory,
just as by the Spirit of the Lord."
.

I've created it in a few different color choices.  Keep checking back... there are more prints to come in this series.  I'm thinking they'll go perfectly in a bathroom or wherever you get ready for the day.
