instagram friday

Oh what a week it has been.
I won't be showing you pics of some events.
Because they're just too gross.

Long story short is that I fell on a ramp at bible study,
wound up scraping the top of my foot.
Landed on my butt, sort of stunned on how it all happened.
Got some neosporin and a bandaid and thought that was that.

Until the next afternoon.  It started feeling weird.
Like there was all this pressure and it was hot.
I discovered the whole foot was swollen and red.
The infection was spreading up towards my leg.
And that had my doctor very concerned.

I'm now on two really heavy duty antibiotics.
Drugs I don't like being on.
But she said, "The other choice is you die of a foot infection."
Well ok, I don't like that choice even more.
I'm on the mend praise God.
And I'm praying against any of the side effects from the drugs.

But another praise, I love my doctor, I love UCLA,
and truly love the demeanor of every doctor I've come across there.
If I ever move I will miss having this kind of medical care.

On to happier things.... instagram fun!

We finally went to play at a newly renovated park.
(This was long before the foot incident)
And went fishing at a nearby lake.
I think this is one of my all time favorite instagram pics.
Daddy took the kids out for the day.
I had a much needed day of rest.
Ready for church..
Yes, this is how she went.  She said, I'm party pretty girl,
part cowgirl.  And she had the saunter to prove it.
A cowgirl who likes to climb trees.
And sharpen her pocket knife, just like her brother.
This little lady can be demanding sometimes.
Not in a bad way.  She just knows what she wants
and she isn't afraid to express it.
And she is so sweet about it.
Well, she's always asking me to draw things so she can copy them
or color them in.
Sometimes I'm not in the mood or feel like I have too much to do.
But you know her insistence is actually good.
It makes me try things I've been ruminating about, but haven't put on paper.
This was quickly snapped while at one of my four visits to UCLA this week.
Whew.  Just praising God the infection is getting better.
And Miss Piper jumped in the car on the way to school.
So she was my side kick.
I loved watching her watch the world out the window.
Including the crazy dancing banana man.
She looked so innocent and sweet.
And then she puked, all over everything.
That wasn't so sweet.

This picture barely does it justice, but Tuesday night
the moon was gorgeous.
And these girls are so into putting their outfits together.
And this one, is five.
But she's the most independent child I have.
She insists on doing things herself.
Including blow drying her hair.
Love it. :)

And we rounded out our week with a fun tea party.
Well, at first the lady on the left laughed and said,
"It's not a party mom, it's lunch."
But then she got into it, setting up the table just right.
Happy Friday everyone!
Head on over to life rearranged for more snapshots into everyone's week.

stickers

Oh how I love stickers.

I would save my money as a child to go to a
speciality paper store in Encinitas.

And my next door neighbor,
a school principal, owned a
teacher supply store with loads of
scratch n sniff stickers.

Both were better than a candy store to me.

I carefully saved them in an old-school photo album.
An album I found a few years back at my parent's house.
Still untouched.

So learning how to make my own stickers.
Well, it was a little bit of bliss.
They're perfect for party favors,
stocking stuffers,
letter writing,
or just to keep for yourself.
My girls are carrying on the love of stickers
and are playing with the test sheets.
And now, you can get your own set of 54 stickers packaged
sweetly for gift giving in the shop.
They feature the girls from my scripture art
and each one comes with a coordinating word
or phrase taken from the scripture that goes with the print.
I wanted them to be fun and encouraging.
Enjoy!

leaf creating

The co-op we're in as a group gets together to do these.
And we were sick so we had to miss out.
But for our week off I checked out the book
"Look What I Did with a Leaf"  from the library.
The book, plus lots of collected leaves, and some glue are all you need
for hours of fun.

That big ol' bag of leaves over there has offered us plenty of opportunities for art.
For kids and grown ups alike.
It's mindless and therapeutic and pretty satisfying seeing what you can create.

insta black friday

Shopping today is the last, last thing on my list.
I have never been a black friday kind of girl.
And this year is no exception.
My son wished otherwise.
He wishes that I would have camped out at Best Buy last night.
But oh, the torture.  It's so not worth it to me.
Today we're watching Elf and will probably get some
Christmas decorations out.
I'm still struggling with some chest issues from a lingering
something that just won't go away.
And it's making my energy really low.
So a low key day we'll have.

But first it's insta friday.
I'll work backwards because I want to start with Thanksgiving.
I wasn't so great at taking a lot of pictures, but I got a few.

Happy Day after Thanksgiving everyone!

a quick chalkboard decoration.
I was very last minute this year with decorations for
both halloween and thanksgiving.
It has been a full season.
They are so eager to help.
Set the table and were ready to go
long before the food was.
Every year my dad dawns his famous Turkey shirt
for Turkey day.  And he resumes his role as
the master carver.
It was a mellow Thanksgiving for us.
And I liked it that way.
The next series cracks me up.
It's her before pie.
During pie...a little too big.
And after, cracking herself up.
And before it got dark, this day requires a good
walk around the neighborhood.
With very full tummies and hearts.
I used no filter on these next two..they were just too
vibrant all by themselves.
A frequent part of our routine has
become stopping at the dog park.
The girls used to beg me to go even before we
had our own dog again.
But now, we have plenty reason to let Piper play.
I don't know who enjoys it more.
The girls or the dog.
Another huge event they were counting down
towards, was finally using the trial
horseback riding lessons I got at a fundraiser
last spring.  They were literally in heaven.
I have pictures with the good camera which will
be on here one day soon.
But we're having computer issues with uploading
at the moment..so soon.
It was a beautiful day and I was really proud at how much they did and learned.
We've had a couple of doctor and dentist visits.
They've become waiting room pro's.
And finally, I'm loving the fall leaves.
The light, the air.
It's different this time of year.
And it's my favorite.
Happy Friday!
